This video tutorial shows how to add Google Analytics tracking code into your Joomla website.

Joomla 3.x. How to add Google Analytics tracking code

1. In order to generate a Tracking ID, you should log in to the Google Analytics website at http://www.google.com/analytics/ using your Google account. After that, you need to generate Google Analytics tracking code. Then add this JS code to the template index.php file. The code looks like on the screenshot below. Copy this code.

   

2. Open Joomla admin section, go to Extensions->Template Manager. Select the Templates tab. Click on Theme Details and Files.

   

3. Select Edit main page template.

   

4. Scroll down to the end of code and insert the JS code you have copied above the </body> tag. It should look like on the screenshot below. Save the changes.
