Permissions warning message"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This tutorial will show you how to resolve the issue with the file permissions and remove the warning message from the top of your osCommerce store. This error  is triggered because the permissions on the file are set to Read, Write and  Execute (UNIX) or on Windows no attributes are checked in the file properties. <!--more-->In order to fix this:<\/p>\r\n<p>1. <strong>On <\/strong><strong>Windows <\/strong>as your test server:Right click  on <strong>&#8216;includes\/configure.php&#8217;<\/strong>, select &#8216;<strong>Properties<\/strong>&#8216; (A new box will appear&#8230;), select\/Tick <strong>&#8216;Read-only<\/strong>&#8216; and click <strong>&#8216;Ok&#8217;<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/properties-read-only.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/properties-read-only-300x133.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"properties-read-only\" width=\"300\" height=\"133\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-11531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/properties-read-only-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/properties-read-only.png 377w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\r\n<p>2. <strong>On  LINUX\/UNIX: <\/strong>Open the <strong>\/includes\/ <\/strong>directory and using CHMOD* and set the  permissions to <strong>444<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>for the<strong> <\/strong><strong>configure.php<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>file. (Some  systems may prefer <strong>644<\/strong>). There are three ways of doing this: <\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"post-list\">\r\n  <li>using  an <strong>FTP<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>client <\/strong>like <a href=\"http:\/\/filezilla-project.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Filezilla &ldquo;Client&rdquo;<\/a><strong> (<\/strong>or Total Commander, CuteFTP etc). For doing that in  FileZilla, <\/li>\r\n  <li>login  to your site using the client;<\/li>\r\n  <li>right  click the file or directory that you want to change permissions on: <a href=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions1_thumb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions1_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"filepermissions1_thumb\" width=\"237\" height=\"267\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11532\" \/><\/a><\/li>\r\n  <li>the  following screen will appear: <\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions2_thumb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/info.template-help.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions2_thumb-273x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"filepermissions2_thumb\" width=\"273\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-11533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions2_thumb-273x300.jpg 273w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/filepermissions2_thumb.jpg 305w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 273px) 100vw, 273px\" \/><\/a>\r\n\r\n<p>On  this screen you have two choices for changing permissions.&nbsp; You can check  the <strong>&ldquo;Read&rdquo;, &ldquo;Write&rdquo; and &ldquo;Execute&rdquo;<\/strong> check boxes, or better type  a Numeric Value (<strong>444 or 644<\/strong>)  into the <strong>&ldquo;Numeric Box&rdquo;.<\/strong>&nbsp; And click <strong>OK<\/strong>.&nbsp; <\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>via a <strong>File Manager<\/strong> tool provided by your  webhosting provider. In cPanel, it&#8217;s called <strong>File Manager<\/strong>. In other tools it might  be called something different. In the file manager, you can simply navigate to  the file you want to alter permissions for, then click on the <strong>File Properties<\/strong> link\/button and set  permissions. The links could have varying names. If you  are having a hard time finding all these options, contact your host provider  for help or try method 1.<\/li>\r\n  <li>(this  way does not require changing the permssions) in\u00a0 <em><strong>\/catalog\/includes\/header.<\/strong>php<\/em>on your  server change  line 22 from this <\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<pre class=\"brush:php\">\r\nif (  (file_exists(dirname($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['SCRIPT_FILENAME']) .
