This tutorial is going to show you how to use the New Product Filters in OpenCart.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Log into the admin panel of your site. From the top menu select \u201cCatalog\u201d -> \u201cFilters\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

    Next, click the \u201cinsert\u201d<\/strong> button on the right to add the filters. Product Filters are added in the same way as product options. Below there is an example of\u00a0the filter group titled \u201cRock\/Pop\u201d and several filter options in that group E.g. Bass Collections, Big Band etc.<\/p>\r\n

    Save the changes by clicking "Save"<\/strong> at the top right. Now link the products filters you have just added to the actual product. Go to the top menu "Catalog" -> "Products".<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

    Click "Edit"<\/strong> on one of the products, on the manage product screen choose the \u201cLinks\u201d<\/strong> tab and look for the \u201cFilters\u201d<\/strong> section. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    The \u201cFilter\u201d <\/strong>box is a standard auto complete box. Simply type in a part of the filter name. Add as many filters you wish the product to belong to. Save your changes when finished.<\/p>\r\n

    Now link the filter to the category page. Go to the top menu "Catalog" -> "Categories"<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

    Click "Edit" <\/strong>on the categories\u00a0which products have filters assigned to. Choose the \u201cData\u201d<\/strong> tab and look for the \u201cFilters\u201d<\/strong> section. Type in a part of the filter name to add the same filters added to your \u0441ategories. Save your changes when finished.<\/p>\r\n

    If this is the first time of using product filters, go to Extensions -> Modules -> Filter<\/strong>. Then click the \u201cEdit\u201d<\/strong> link. Click the \u201cAdd Module\u201d<\/strong> button. If you want to display the filters in the right column of the category listing page, you should mirror the settings as follows – Layout: Category, Position: content left, Status: enabled. Once complete, click \u201cSave\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

    When you are done, go to the category page and you will see the new filter box:<\/p>\r\n
