This tutorial is going to show you how to update Cherry Framework and Cherry plugin manually.<\/p>\r\n

Downloading and preparations<\/h3>\r\n
    \r\n
  1. \r\n

    First, you need to make a back up<\/a> of your current Cherry Framework version.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    To download the newest Cherry Framework version, you can follow this link: https:\/\/github.com\/CherryFramework\/CherryFramework<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Click Download ZIP<\/strong> button.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  4. \r\n

    You will see a pop-up window asking you to save the file. Click ok <\/strong> to proceed with downloading.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  5. \r\n

    After downloading you will get a CherryFramework-x-x.zip file in the directory you saved it to (where x.x is the version of Cherry Framework). You can use any software to unzip it (for instance, WinZip<\/a>, you can download and install<\/a> its trial version). You need to right-click the file and select “Extract to CherryFramework.zip”<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    When you open the folder, you will find another folder called “CherryFramework” inside. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  7. \r\n

    You should select “CherryFramework” folder, right click on the content highlighted and select “Add to archive”<\/strong>. <\/p>\r\n

    You will see “Archive name and parameters”<\/strong> in the pop-up window, select .ZIP <\/strong>as the Archive format<\/strong> and click “Ok”<\/strong>. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    You will get a new CherryFramework.zip file which you need to upload to your server.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    Uploading to a server<\/h3>\r\n
      \r\n
    1. \r\n

      Log into the Control Panel and open the File Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    2. \r\n

      Open the folder with the current WordPress site and navigate to the folder wp-content\/ themes.<\/p>\r\n

      Find folder “CherryFramework”<\/strong> (if it exists) and rename it (for example, CherryFrameworkbackup).<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      Click Upload <\/strong>in the top menu, click Browse <\/strong>and navigate to the CherryFramework.zip file on your computer.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    5. \r\n

      Once uploading is finished, go back to the directory where the file is uploaded.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    6. \r\n

      You will see the CherryFramework.zip in the directory you uploaded it to. Select it and click Extract <\/strong> button at the top.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    7. \r\n

      In the pop-up window click Extract File(s)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      Activation<\/h3>\r\n
        \r\n
      1. \r\n

        Log into your WordPress admin panel (add \/wp-admin <\/strong>to your domain name in the browser address bar).<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      2. \r\n

        Go to Appearance -> Themes<\/strong> menu.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      3. \r\n

        Find Cherry Framework-xx and click the Activate <\/strong>button.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      4. \r\n

        Activate themexxxx <\/strong> in the same way (where XXXXX <\/strong>is the unique number of your theme).<\/p>\r\n

        Open Plugins<\/strong> menu. You can see the massage that new version of Cherry Plugin is available.<\/p>\r\n

        Click “Update now”<\/strong> link.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

        In case you do not have such massage (“There is a new version of Cherry Plugin available”), you need to update plugin manually.<\/p>\r\n

        Manual Cherry Plugin update<\/h3>\r\n

        1. \r\n

          Log into the Control Panel. Open the folder with the current WordPress site and navigate to the folder “wp-content\/plugins”<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        2. \r\n

          Find folder “cherry-plugin”<\/strong> (if it exists) and rename it (for example, cherry-pluginbackup).<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        3. \r\n

          Click Upload <\/strong>in the top menu, click Browse <\/strong>and navigate to the CherryFramework folder on your computer.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        4. \r\n

          Open CherryFramework folder. Open the folder “includes\/plugins”<\/strong> inside it. You will see cherry-plugin.zip<\/strong>, double-click on it.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        5. \r\n

          Once file uploading is finished, go back to the directory where the file is uploaded.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        6. \r\n

          You will see the cherry-plugin.zip in the directory you uploaded it to. Click on it to select, then click Extract<\/strong> at the top.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        7. \r\n

          In the pop-up window click Extract File(s)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        8. \r\n

          Open WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins<\/strong> menu. Click the Activate<\/strong> link. Now you can check your site.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
