This tutorial shows how to assign a custom post category to a certain portfolio page in WordPress. Portfolio page may be also called Services, Works, Products, Gallery, etc.<\/p>\r\n

In order to assign a custom post category to a certain portfolio page, please complete three basic steps: <\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Step 1.<\/strong> First and foremost, you should create a new custom category to display certain portfolio posts:<\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    1. \r\n

      Log into WordPress administration panel and go to Portfolio section.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    2. \r\n

      Choose Categories<\/strong> out of a dropdown menu list. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    3. \r\n

      Fill in all necessary fields like category name and slug.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    4. \r\n

      Press Add New Category<\/strong> option and a new category will appear in the list on the right:<\/p>\r\n

        Please go to Portfolio section -> Portfolio:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

        Open any portfolio post and assign it to your new category on the right:<\/p>\r\n

        Step 3.<\/strong> Now you have to assign our custom portfolio category to a certain portfolio page:<\/p>\r\n

          Create a new page by clicking Pages -> Add New<\/strong> tab:<\/p>\r\n

          Secondly, your page should have portfolio layout, so select Portfolio page template type in the Page Attributes drop-down menu:<\/p>\r\n

          If you want to see a new Portfolio Page in your header menu, please navigate to Appearance -> Menus:<\/p>\r\n

          Locate the ‘Pages’ block on the left. Mark your Portfolio Page and click ‘Add to Menu’ button. A new portfolio page has been added to your menu:<\/p>\r\n
