Good news for all on-line store keepers! In our new tutorial we will teach you how to install template with sample data over your PrestaShop<\/strong><\/a> site using our new Sample data installer<\/strong> module. <\/p>\r\n

PrestaShop 1.6.x. How to install template with sample data using sample data installer<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n

After PrestaShop engine installation a default PreshaShop theme<\/strong> appears at the site front-end: <\/p>\r\n

To make your site look exactly as on live demo, you will need to install a theme<\/strong> and import sample data<\/strong> into your store.<\/p>\r\n

Before you proceed, please make sure that your template package and sources\/sample_data<\/strong> folder (inside it) are already unzipped on your computer.<\/p>\r\n

First of all, you will need to Add your new theme<\/strong> and activate it in the PrestaShop Admin panel<\/strong>. Let us show you how to do it:<\/p>\r\n

    Log into your Admin panel and go to Preferences->Themes<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

    Click on Add new theme<\/strong> button in the top right corner:<\/p>\r\n

    To import a theme from your computer, click Add file<\/strong> and choose themexxx.zip<\/strong> file from the themeinstallator<\/strong> folder of your template package (where themexxx<\/strong> is the name of your theme). Press Open<\/strong> and Save<\/strong> the changes: <\/p>\r\n

    Now your new theme will appear at the back-end in Preferences->Themes<\/strong>. Enable it by clicking Use this theme<\/strong> button: <\/p>\r\n

    Leave default settings in Modules to install<\/strong> section if you want the site to look exactly as on live demo. Press Save<\/strong>: <\/p>\r\n

    Now press Finish<\/strong> on the next page: <\/p>\r\n

    Now you need to Import sample data<\/strong>. <\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    1. \r\n

      After pressing Finish<\/strong> button, the new module Install Demo Store<\/strong> will appear at the bottom of PrestaShop administration menu on the left at the back-end. <\/p>\r\n

      Press Install sample data<\/strong> button in the dialog window that will appear: <\/p>\r\n

    2. \r\n

      Drag and drop all the files from sources\/sample_data\/sample_data<\/strong> folder of your template package into the field marked with a blue circle or click Browse local files<\/strong> button. Select all files and press Open<\/strong> button: <\/p>\r\n

      When file downloading is finished click Continue install<\/strong> button: <\/p>\r\n

    4. \r\n

      Please wait until the installation of sample data is finished: <\/p>\r\n

    5. \r\n

      To make the theme look properly, Thumbnails<\/strong> should be regenerated when sample data installation is complete. Press Go to regenerate page<\/strong> button on the right and you will be redirected to the Preferences->Images<\/strong> page: <\/p>\r\n

      Scroll down to Regenerate thumbnails<\/strong> section. <\/p>\r\n

      Pick option All<\/strong> in the Select an image<\/strong> area and set Erase previous images<\/strong> to Yes<\/strong>. Press Regenerate thumbnails<\/strong> button: <\/p>\r\n

    7. \r\n

      Please be patient. Regenerating thumbnails can take some time. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    8. \r\n

      Refresh the front-end when the thumbnails are regenerated. Now your template is installed with sample data: <\/p>\r\n
