This tutorial shows how to edit items URLs<\/strong> (aliases) in Joomla 3.x.<\/p>\r\n

Joomla 3.x. How to edit items URLs (aliases)<\/a><\/p>\r\n

Aliases<\/strong> are the last parts of Joomla URLs<\/strong> which display the title of certain items (Menu items, Articles and Categories).<\/p>\r\n

Please note that aliases<\/strong> can be represented with letters and dashes only.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    To edit the Menu item URL (Alias)<\/strong>, navigate to Joomla admin panel > Menus > Main menu<\/strong> tab. Open the Menu item required and find the Alias field<\/strong> next to the Menu Item title<\/strong> or under it.\r\n <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Type new URL into the Alias field<\/strong> and use the Save<\/strong> or Save & Close<\/strong> buttons to save the changes.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    You can update Categories<\/strong> aliases under the Content – Category manager<\/strong> tab of Joomla admin panel. Alias text is updated in the same Alias field<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  4. \r\n

    To change the Article<\/strong> URL, go to Content – Article manager<\/strong>, open the appropriate article and type in new link into the Alias<\/strong> field.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
