This tutorial shows how to fix missing menu (category) item<\/strong> issue in Magento.<\/p>\r\n

In order to add a new category as menu item in top horizontal menu of Magento, create a new category as subcategory<\/strong> of Default Category<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. \r\n

    Navigate to the Catalog -> Manage categories<\/strong> tab in Magento admin panel.\r\n <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Click Default Category<\/strong> and next click the Add Subcategory<\/strong> button.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Fill out all the fields required for category publishing: Name, Is Active<\/strong> and Include in Navigation Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  4. \r\n

    Next, click the Save Category<\/strong> button to publish a new menu item:<\/p>\r\n

    Make sure to clear Magento cache<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Refresh Home page with the Control\/Command+F5<\/strong> hotkeys to check the changes.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
