Most website hosts provide software to back up your site. Check with your host to find out what services and programs they provide. <\/p>\r\n

In this tutorial we will show you how to make a full backup for your Drupal Site.<\/p>\r\n

Drupal 7.x. How to make full website backup<\/a><\/p>\r\n

There are 2 steps to make the backup.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    First, backup the database.<\/p>\r\n

      \r\n

      To make sure you will work with the right database, log into your Hosting control panel. Select ‘File manager<\/strong>‘ button, locate the root folder for your Drupal<\/strong> website, it should have this look:<\/p>\r\n

      Go to the ‘sites<\/strong>‘ and then ‘default<\/strong>‘ folder. Look for the file named ‘settings.php<\/strong>‘. Open this file and check the codes for database name, username and password, it should look like this: <\/p>\r\n

      Go back to cPanel, open ‘phpMyAdmin<\/strong>‘ panel, then select the database name that you have checked above. Next, click to ‘Export<\/strong>‘ button to export this database. Save it as a .zip\/.sql file on your computer:<\/p>\r\n

      Next, you should back up all the files of Drupal<\/strong> website. <\/p>\r\n

        From hosting cpanel, go to ‘File Manager<\/strong>‘, there is usually the ability to archive the content:<\/p>\r\n

        Then download and save it as a .zip file to your computer:<\/p>\r\n
