In this tutorial you will find out how to restore a full backup for your Drupal<\/strong> Site.<\/p>\r\n

Drupal 7.x. How to restore a website from full backup<\/a><\/p>\r\n

There are 3 steps to restore the Drupal website from the full backup.<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. \r\n

    First, restore the files.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    1. \r\n

      Log into your Host Control Panel <\/strong>. Go to File Manager <\/strong>: <\/p>\r\n

      Select all the files, click Compress<\/strong> button to zip all the current files and download to your computer (you can skip this step):<\/p>\r\n

      Go to Sites<\/strong> folder, change permission for default<\/strong> folder into 755, in default<\/strong> folder you also need to change permission for settings.php<\/strong> file into 644, so that you can delete all the files completely:<\/p>\r\n

      Go back to the root directory, select all the files, and click Delete<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n

      Click Upload<\/strong> button and upload the .zip file that we have backed up before. Then click Extract<\/strong> to unzip this file, so that you will have all the files back from the full backup:<\/p>\r\n

      Go to sites<\/strong> folder to change permission for default<\/strong> folder into 755, open default<\/strong> folder to change permission of settings.php<\/strong> file into 644.<\/p>\r\n

      Open settings.php<\/strong> file to remove all the content from this file. Then save it:<\/p>\r\n

    4. \r\n

      Next, you should restore the database.<\/strong> <\/p>\r\n

        Go to phpMyAdmin<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

        Choose the right database of the website, select all the tables and then drop them:<\/p>\r\n

        Click Import<\/strong> tab, Browse<\/strong> to import the .sql file that we had backed up before. Then click Go<\/strong> to start importing: <\/p>\r\n

      3. \r\n

        Finally, we will connect the website to the restored database.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

        Type the website URL in the browser address bar to see the installation page appearing:<\/p>\r\n

        Continue all the steps you did to install the template:<\/p>\r\n

          On the initial setup page you will be prompted to select the installation profile. Choose Demonstration site<\/strong> and click Save<\/strong> and Continue<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

          Follow the instructions on the screen. Fill in the fields with your database name, username, password and hostname of the restored database:<\/p>\r\n

          On the Choose snapshot<\/strong> step, select the snapshot as it is shown on the image below and click the Restore<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n

          Click Visit your site<\/strong> link to see that the website has been restored successfully.<\/p>\r\n
