In this tutorial you will learn how to change URL aliases of CMS pages and system pages in Magento.<\/p>\r\n

    Log into your Admin panel, go to CMS -> Pages<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

    Select, for example, “About Us” page. Change “URL Key”<\/strong> value to fit your needs:<\/p>\r\n

    Save changes.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Now go to CMS -> Static Blocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Open “Footer Links”<\/strong> block. Change the original URL for “About Us” page to a new one:<\/p>\r\n

    Now let’s change a system page URL, for example “Contact Us”.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Within Admin panel, go to Catalog -> URL Rewrite Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

    Click on Add URL Rewrite<\/strong> button. Choose to add a Custom<\/strong> type.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Enter “contacts” for ID Path<\/strong> and Target Path<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Enter “contact-us” for the Request Path<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

    Click the Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Go to the app\/design\/frontend\/default\/themeXXX\/layout<\/strong> folder of your template and find contacts.xml<\/strong>. If it does not exist, just copy it from app\/design\/frontend\/base\/default\/layout<\/strong> folder:<\/p>\r\n
