This tutorial will show you how to change the database table prefix in SQL file in Joomla 3.x.<\/p>\r\n

Sometimes, after importing sql file you cannot see any changes on the web-site, that means you should check the database prefix. In order to apply the changes, you need to perform the following steps:<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Go to System > Global configuration<\/strong> and click on Server tab.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    There you will be able to find “Database Tables Prefix”<\/strong> and copy it up:<\/p>\r\n

    Open your dump.sql<\/strong> file from Sources folder<\/strong> and choose Find & Replace<\/strong> tool. You need to replace all “jos_” instances with your table prefix there. Paste jos_ to the “Find”<\/strong> field and your prefix to the “Replace” field, then click on Replace all<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n
