Hello! This video tutorial shows how to back-up a database from osCommerce admin panel.<\/p>\r\nosCommerce. How to back up a database from admin panel<\/a>\r\n\r\n

You may need to back up your osCommerce store database before performing some changes to it or just in case.<\/p>\r\n

osCommerce platform allows to back up the database using administration area tools. Let’s learn how to do it.<\/p>\r\n

The tutorial assumes you are already logged into your store administration area.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Go to Tools ->Database Backup<\/strong> tab on the left side of your administration area:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"oscommerce_how_to_backup_database_from_admin_panel_1\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    On the appeared screen click the “Backup”<\/strong> button on the right:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"oscommerce_how_to_backup_database_from_admin_panel_2\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n

  3. On the left you can see the full path to the directory where the database backup will be stored on your server:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"oscommerce_how_to_backup_database_from_admin_panel_3\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n

  4. It is recommended that you save the backup file on a hard drive instead of just storing it on the server.<\/p><\/li>\r\n\r\n

  5. At this point, check the “Download only (do not store server side)*”<\/strong> box on the right of the screen and click “Backup”<\/strong> button to start the process of downloading back-up file:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"oscommerce_how_to_backup_database_from_admin_panel_4\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n

  6. Depending on the size of your database, it may take some time to complete the procedure.<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\r\n

  7. It is important that you do not interrupt the process until it is finished.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\t\r\n\t\r\n

  8. Once it is accomplished, the dialogue screen will appear for you to specify the location you would like to save the file in:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"oscommerce_how_to_backup_database_from_admin_panel_5\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n

  9. Save the file in the desired location. The database back-up is successfully created and saved on your hard drive.<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n
