Hello! This tutorial shows how to edit footer links in OpenCart 2.x. templates.<\/p>\r\n

OpenCart 2.x. How to edit footer links and copyright notification<\/a><\/p>\r\n

There are usually four columns with links, e.g. Information<\/strong> links, My Account<\/strong> links etc. and copyright<\/strong> notification in the footer of Opencart templates:<\/p>\r\n

Let’s learn how to edit these links.<\/p>\r\n

The Information<\/strong> links column is usually edited via Opencart administration area.<\/p>\r\n

    Go to Catalog ->Information<\/strong> tab:<\/p>\r\n

    Click “Edit”<\/strong> icon next to the desired Information link in order to edit it.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    As you can see there are different values under Sort Order<\/strong> column for each link:<\/p>\r\n

    You may manage links order by changing this value in the Sort Order<\/strong> field for each link:<\/p>\r\n

    Set the Sort Order to zero (0)<\/strong> to prevent the link from displaying under Information<\/strong> column in the footer.<\/p>\r\n

    Second, third and forth columns are usually defined in the \/catalog\/view\/theme\/themeXXX\/template\/common\/footer.tpl<\/strong> file as well as the copyright notification.<\/p>\r\n

    The code for the second column is the following:<\/p>\r\n

    Each column includes such variables, as $text_service<\/strong>, $text_extra<\/strong>, $text_account<\/strong>, $powered<\/strong>, etc.<\/p>\r\n
    Each of these variables is defined in the \/catalog\/language\/english\/common\/footer.php<\/strong> file:<\/p>\r\n

    You may simply change the text defined for respective variables, e.g. change ‘Information’<\/strong> to ‘Info’<\/strong>. Save the file and refresh the front page to see changes:<\/p>\r\n

    You may also want to add your own links to any of footer columns.<\/p>\r\n
    In order to do this, simply copy one of the existing links and alter it so the link has unique name and is linked to desired location.<\/p>\r\n
    Let’s say, you want to add a link under Customer Service<\/strong> column. The link format will be as follows:<\/p>\r\n
