First of all, go to <strong>#__users table<\/strong>, and grab the &#8220;id&#8221; for the user which has troubles with logging into the backend. Then go to <strong>#__users_usergroup<\/strong> table, look for the &#8220;user_id&#8221; you found above, and look for the value in the &#8220;group_id&#8221; column. This should be 8 if you did not change the <strong>ACL schema<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.3-254x300.jpg\" alt=\"Joomla Troubleshooter.3\" width=\"254\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-46710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.3-254x300.jpg 254w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.3-127x150.jpg 127w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.3.jpg 632w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>You can double check that by looking to the <strong>#__usergroups<\/strong> table as you need to see what is the ID for <strong>Super Administrators group<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.4-300x100.jpg\" alt=\"Joomla Troubleshooter.4\" width=\"300\" height=\"100\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-46711\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.4-300x100.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.4-150x50.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Joomla-Troubleshooter.4.jpg 446w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p><strong>Check if the ACL tables are not corrupt<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>If the login problem is because of ACL corruption, then in 99% of cases the error lies somewhere in <strong>jos_viewlevels<\/strong> and\/or <strong>jos_usergroups<\/strong> tables. We suggest that you look at a clean Joomla database and compare the two tables of that database with those in your website\u2019s database.<\/p>\r\n<p>If the ACL tables are corrupt, then you can manually fix them but we don&#8217;t recommend doing that since this should be done only by an expert.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p><strong> Check the jos_assets table<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>\r\n<p>If all previous tricks are failing, there is the last and less probable way-out. A possible cause of this error is that your <strong>#__assets<\/strong> table was somehow corrupted. This table is, by far, the most complex table in Joomla.<\/p>\r\n<p>The two most common reasons that might lead to this problem are the following:<\/p>\r\n<li>\r\n<p>Missing entry for <em><strong>com_admin<\/strong><\/em> row.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p>Wrong rules field for <em><strong>com_admin<\/strong><\/em> row. The rules field for that row should just contain &#8216;{}&#8217;.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>The row should have the value &#8216;2&#8217; in the <strong>id column, and on last column {} <\/strong>.
