The following tutorial is going to show how to deal with “500 Internal Server Error” when regenerating images in Prestashop.<\/p>\r\n

PrestaShop 1.6.x. How to overcome “500 Internal Server Error” when regenerating images<\/a><\/p>\r\n

NOTE: There are several different issues that can cause the 500 Internal Server Error message to appear. To check the exact error code, you need to enable Prestashop Debug mode <\/a> or check the server error log. <\/p>\r\n

In most cases the issue is related to the hosting server php configuration and caused by not enough memory_limit<\/strong> and max_execution_time<\/strong> values. We recommend that you contact the hosting provider for assistance. <\/p>\r\n

Alternatively, you may try to regenerate images by parts:<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. \r\n

    Log into your admin panel.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Navigate to Preferences->Images<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n

    Scroll down to Regenerate thumbnails<\/strong> section.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Choose the image from Select an image<\/strong> dropdown (for example Products), the image format from Select a format<\/strong> dropdown and set Erase previous images<\/strong> option to No<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Click Regenerate thumbnails<\/strong> button, confirm regenerating and wait until the regeneration is completed:<\/p>\r\n

    If you see The thumbnails were successfully regenerated<\/strong> message, that means the images were regenerated correctly: <\/p>\r\n

    Repeat the same process for all other image types one by one.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
