This tutorial shows how to disable widgets and sidebars<\/strong> in Shopify.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    To disable the whole sidebar, navigate to Shopify admin panel<\/strong>, open Online Store -> Themes tab<\/strong> and click the Customize Theme<\/strong> button.\r\n\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Under the Customize Theme<\/strong> tab, click the Layout Settings<\/strong> button. Here you can enable both Left and Right sidebars, edit sidebar and content width, disable both sidebars.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    In order to disable one of the sidebars, uncheck the Enable Right\/Left Sidebar Option<\/strong> and click the Save Changes<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n

    In case you would like to disable only one or several widgets in the sidebar, navigate to the Theme Options -> Edit HTML\/CSS<\/strong> tab of admin panel. Open and edit the layout\/theme.liquid<\/strong> file. You can comment the widget callout in the file.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  5. \r\n

    Use Firebug<\/a> or Inspect Element tool<\/strong> in order to find which line should be commented, e.g. look for the widget class:<\/p>\r\n

    Next, find line with the widget class in the layout\/theme.liquid file and comment it:<\/p>\r\n

    Save the changes and refresh the page on front-end to see that widget is gone now.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
