This tutorial shows how to link products to the categories in OpenCart 2.x.<\/p>\r\n

OpenCart 2.x. How to link products to the categories<\/a><\/p>\r\n

You can configure the products and assign them to different categories in OpenCart admin panel easily. Navigate to the store’s dashboard, hover over ‘Catalog’ <\/strong>section and select ‘Products’ <\/strong>from the list: <\/p>\r\n

Locate the product to modify and click ‘Edit’ button. Perform the following steps then:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

    Click the ‘Links’ <\/strong>tab on top. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Under the ‘Categories’ <\/strong>section you can see the list of categories the product is linked to. Feel free to remove them to choose new ones instead.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Start typing the category name in there. Thanks to the auto-fill option<\/strong> the list of matching titles will show up. Select the required ones. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  4. \r\n

    Save changes<\/strong> once you are done editing: <\/p>\r\n

    Get back to the site front-end. The product shows up under the selected category(ies) now.<\/p>\r\n

    When creating new product, you can assign it to the specific category(ies) the same way.<\/p>\r\n
