Drupal 7.x. How to perform database update<\/a><\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Please go to your FTP or Hosting CPanel Filemanager <\/strong> and open site root folder there (public_html, www, etc.). In our case that’s “drupal_new”<\/strong> folder: <\/p>\r\n

    Navigate to sites\/default<\/strong> directory and locate settings.php <\/strong> file there. Open it for editing:\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Locate line of code that says the following:<\/p>\r\n

    $update_free_access=FALSE;<\/pre>\r\n
    Change it to:<\/p>\r\n
    $update_free_access=TRUE;<\/pre>\r\n
    to allow access to update script. Save changes applied.<\/p>\r\n

  4. \r\n
    Open your browser and type http:\/\/yourwebsiteurl\/drupal_new\/update.php <\/strong> in address bar (where http:\/\/yourwebsiteurl\/drupal_new\/ stands for your site address).\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  5. \r\n
    Click on Continue <\/strong> button if you’re ready with site backup. You may check  this detailed guide <\/a> on how to backup your data:\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n

    Click on Apply pending updates <\/strong> button:\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n

    Go back to  sites\/default<\/strong> directory to edit  settings.php <\/strong> file once again. Change TRUE<\/strong> back to FALSE<\/strong> same way as previously, please.\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  8. \r\n
    Feel free to visit your website now. Next you can login to site admin panel and go to Reports –> Available Updates<\/strong> section. In case all the steps were performed properly you will see that Drupal core and modules are up to date, you have successfully applied all the available updates.\r\n\t\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
