This tutorial provides an explanation of how to set “Date of birth”<\/strong> field as optional one when creating an account in ZenCart.<\/p>\r\n\t\tZenCart. How to make “Date of birth” field optional in customer registration form<\/a>\r\n\r\n\t\t

By default, the “Date of birth”<\/strong> field is required to create an account in ZenCart. In order to make it optional, you should perform the following steps:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\t\t

    \r\n\t\t\t
  1. \r\n\t\t\t\t

    Log into your ZenCart admin panel and go to Configuration -> Customer Details<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n\"Navigate_to_Configuration_Customer_Details\"<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t

  2. \r\n\t\t\t\t

    Click on “Date of Birth”<\/strong> field and make sure it is set to true<\/strong>. Otherwise, select “true”<\/strong> and hit Update<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\"Set_Date_of_Birth_field_to_true\"<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t

    In order to remove asterisk (*)<\/strong> from “Date of Birth”<\/strong> field, you should navigate to includes\/languages<\/strong> folder and open english.php<\/strong> file for editing. You can edit it via your cPanel or FTP:\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\"Locate_english_php_file\"<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t

    You need to locate the following piece of code (approximately line 208):<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t

    \r\n\t\t\t\t\tdefine('ENTRY_DATE_OF_BIRTH_TEXT', '* (eg. 05\/21\/1970)');\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/pre>\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t
    and replace it with this line of code (just remove the asterisk (*)<\/strong>):<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t
    \r\n\t\t\t\t\tdefine('ENTRY_DATE_OF_BIRTH_TEXT', ' (eg. 05\/21\/1970)');\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/pre>\r\n\t\t\r\n\"Remove_asterisk_from_Date_of_Birth_field\"<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t
  7. \r\n\t\t\t\t
    Save your changes and check your website. “Date of birth”<\/strong> field became optional in your account form.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t<\/ol>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t
