This tutorial will show you how to create portfolio page in WordPress CherryFramework 4 template.<\/p>\r\n

CherryFramework 4. How to create portfolio page<\/a><\/p>\r\n

Basically, we have to follow 3 steps:<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  1. \r\n

    Add a portfolio category;<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    Add few portfolio posts;<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Create a portfolio page.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    Adding Portfolio category<\/h3>\r\n
      \r\n
    1. \r\n

      Go to your WordPress admin panel, navigate to Portfolio<\/strong>, then Categories<\/strong> and press Add new<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    2. \r\n

      You should name your future category in the Title<\/strong> field, and, optionally, fill in the other features (category description, slug). A slug field is important as you are going to use it to connect this custom category to your future portfolio page. If you leave slug field empty, WordPress picks up a derivative from the name.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    3. \r\n

      Finally, press Add new category<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n

      Adding Portfolio posts and assigning them to the custom category<\/h3>\r\n
        \r\n
      1. \r\n

        Navigate to Portfolio > Add new<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      2. \r\n

        Give it a name and assign this portfolio item to your newly created Portfolio Category:<\/p>\r\n

        Under Featured Image<\/strong>, upload your image (click the Set featured image<\/strong> link). Upload the file. Please note that you can select several files and they will be uploaded one by one. Select Uploaded to this page<\/strong> option in case you need to add more files. <\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      4. \r\n

        Under Zoom Image<\/strong> tab you can set zooming image<\/strong> option to Yes<\/strong> and Publish<\/strong> this portfolio item.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      5. \r\n

        Create another portfolio items the same way.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

        Adding a portfolio page<\/h3>\r\n

        Portfolio pages can be created with the help of page templates.<\/p>\r\n

          \r\n
        1. \r\n

          Click the Pages > Add New<\/strong> tab in WordPress dashboard.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        2. \r\n

          Type in your page name and under Page Attributes<\/strong> select Parent<\/strong> for your page.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

        3. \r\n

          Select your page template (Portfolio<\/strong> in the Page Attributes<\/strong> drop-down menu):<\/p>\r\n

          Check in the Slug<\/strong> feature under Screen options<\/strong> at the top in order to enable Category include<\/strong> field.<\/p>\r\n

          This field should contain name of the category that is going to be displayed on your Portfolio page (available only for the Portfolio page template).<\/p>\r\n

          You need to use the slug of your custom category here (go to Portfolio -> Portfolio Categories and copy the slug from the tab on the right):<\/p>\r\n

          And click the Update<\/strong> and View Page<\/strong> buttons:<\/p>\r\n

          You can assign a newly created Portfolio Page to your header menu. To do that, navigate to Appearance > Menus<\/strong>. Under the Pages<\/strong> on the right, select the page and click on Add to menu<\/strong>, then click Save Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n
