People often ask me: &#8216;How do I choose a WordPress theme?&#8217;. That is a great question, but first \u2014 before getting to the WordPress theme, let&#8217;s talk about what WordPress engine itself would be. <\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"custom\">What are WordPress engine and theme?<\/h3>\r\n<p>Think of WordPress as a skeleton in a human body \u2014 in this case WordPress theme would be the muscles and the skin in a human which grows on top of the skeleton, that holds our guts together and basically makes us who we are. That&#8217;s how people can differentiate them from each other. It is a very rough example but the point is just like in the human body the WordPress engine and the WordPress theme cannot exist without each other.<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"custom\">How can I get a theme?<\/h3>\r\n<p>There are a lot of places and providers you can acquire WordPress themes from. There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/wordpress-themes.php\">great wordpress templates<\/a>, that you should pay for, and there are free WordPress Themes \u2014 there are thousands and thousands of them on the Internet, but I would personally not recommend you working with free WordPress themes, because they are sort of unstable and their providers do not offer support for these themes. That&#8217;s why the professionals do not often use the WordPress themes that have been downloaded for free.<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"custom\">Where can I buy a premium theme?<\/h3>\r\n<p>As for the premium themes, the market is huge. It&#8217;s really enormous, there are hundreds of providers who sell the paid WordPress themes. They are <strong>TemplateMonster<\/strong>, <strong>Themeforest<\/strong>, <strong>Elegant Themes<\/strong>, <strong>Rocket Theme<\/strong> and a lot of the smaller ones. The biggest providers on market would be <strong>TemplateMonster<\/strong> and <strong>ThemeForest<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"custom\">ThemeForest or TemplateMonster?<\/h3>\r\n<p><strong>ThemeForest<\/strong> is a company which is basically a marketplace. It is the website that independent WordPress theme providers and producers come to and sell the products from. So basically <strong>ThemeForest<\/strong> does not provide any products from themselves. They just sell it on behalf of the sellers. <\/p>\r\n<p>As for the <strong>TemplateMonster<\/strong>, it&#8217;s what you call a &#8216;full-cycle&#8217; company. They produce their own WordPress themes, they have their in-house team of designers, developers, support team, billing team and so on. So basically this means for you like for an end-user that <strong>TemplateMonster<\/strong> provides a sort of a greater extent of control over the quality of the product. They provide their own support and bear responsibility for what they sell, whereas <strong>ThemeForest<\/strong> reserves the right not to provide the support for their themes and it&#8217;s actually their official position.<\/p>\r\n<p>Only if you are a professional developer, you may get lucky and acquire good <a href=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/category\/it-wordpress-themes\/\">IT consulting WordPress themes<\/a> which is professionally done, which is very individual and of high quality, but you have to know where you need to look for (on ThemeForest).<\/p>\r\n<p>That&#8217;s actually it for this episode.
