This tutorial will show you how to deal with the ‘Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError’<\/strong> error in Prestashop<\/strong> templates<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Google announced some changes to the Google Maps APIs authentication and usage limits.<\/a><\/p>\r\n

Usage of the Google Maps APIs now requires a key<\/strong>. If you are using the Google Maps API on localhost or your domain was not active prior to June 22nd, 2016<\/strong>, it will require a key going forward. This is why such error occurs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_0\"<\/a>\r\n

To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  1. \r\n

    Go<\/strong> to https:\/\/developers.google.com\/maps\/documentation\/javascript\/get-api-key<\/a> website and create<\/strong> an authentication key by clicking the ‘Get a Key’<\/strong> button;<\/p>\r\n \r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_1\"<\/a><\/li>\r\n

    Select ‘Create a project’<\/strong> option and click ‘Continue’<\/strong>;<\/p>\r\n \r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_2\"<\/a><\/li>\r\n

  3. \r\n

    Specify the required credentials: Name<\/strong>, Website URL<\/strong> and hit ‘Create’<\/strong> button;<\/p>\r\n \r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_3\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Copy<\/strong> your new API Key<\/strong>: <\/p>\r\n \r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_4\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Login to Prestashop dashboard<\/strong>. Navigate to ‘Module and Services’ <\/strong>menu;<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  6. \r\n

    Update the ‘TM Google Map’ <\/strong>module to the latest version;<\/p>\r\n \r\n\"PrestaShop_1.6_Troubleshooter._Google_Maps_do_not_show_up__API_key_issue_5\"<\/a>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  7. \r\n

    Download<\/a> and install the ‘mpgooglemapsfix’<\/strong> module;<\/p>\r\n <\/li>\r\n
