If the status <strong>Active<\/strong> is set to <strong>YES<\/strong>, the rule will go into activity immediately&#59;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t<li><p>Establish the scope for the rule, e.g. specify the website (if you are running multistore) and customer group&#59;<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ul class=\"list\">\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Select a <strong>Website<\/strong> for which the promotion should be activated&#59;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Specify the <strong>customer group<\/strong> the discount applies to. In case you would like the promotion to work only for the registered customers, leave <strong>&#34;NOT LOGGED IN&#34;<\/strong> option unselected&#59;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t<\/li>\r\n\t<li><p>Magento allows <strong>Coupon Association<\/strong> with the promotion rule. To assign a <strong>coupon<\/strong> code to the rule, set <strong>Coupon<\/strong> option to <strong>&#34;Specific Coupon&#34;<\/strong> and do the following&#58;<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ul class=\"list\">\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Insert a numeric&#47;alphanumeric or alphabetical coupon code which customer later uses during the checkout to receive a discount. Enable <strong>Use Auto Generation<\/strong> checkbox to publish multiple coupon codes once the  rule is saved&#59;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Determine the number of times the coupon can be used&#58;<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"list\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><p><strong>Uses per Coupon<\/strong> field specifies the number of times the coupon can be used before expiration. Leave the field blank if there is no limit&#59;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><p><strong>Uses per Customer<\/strong> field specifies the number of times the coupon code can be used by one single registered customer who belongs to the selected customer group above. \r\n\t\t\t\t\tThe setting does not apply to guest customers who belong to the <strong>&#34;NOT LOGGED IN&#34;<\/strong> customer group. The order is qualified for the promotion once the set of conditions are met.<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ol>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Click <strong>Conditions<\/strong> tab on the left. Set <strong> Apply <\/strong> to one of the following options to determine the type of calculation that is applied to the purchase&#58;<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<dl>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dt><p><strong>Percent of the product price discount<\/strong>:<\/p><\/dt>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dd><p>The cart total price is updated by substracting a specified percentage of the original price. The discount will apply to each individual item in the cart that is qualifying for a promotion;<\/p><\/dd>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dt><p><strong>Fixed amount discount<\/strong>:<\/p><\/dt>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<dd><p>The cart total price is updated by substracting a fixed discount amount.
