Manual Update of the main theme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Manually replacing your current version of<strong> &#8216;Monstroid 2&#8217;<\/strong> with an updated version is as easy as 1-2-3!<\/p>\r\n <div class=\"video-container\">\r\n\t<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W4lzR46Fb-o\"><\/iframe>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"inline-banner\">\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.templatemonster.com\/service-center\/\">\r\n<img src=\"\/help\/files\/banners\/inline\/Banner-3-(835-x100).jpg\" \/>\r\n<\/a>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<p>First off, you&#8217;ll need to <strong>download the updated version<\/strong> of the theme, which includes both the main theme and the child theme (which serves as a backup for all the custom changes you make to your styles, etc.).<\/p>\r\n<p>Next on, <strong>installing<\/strong> it, the child theme and <strong>export-import<\/strong> steps are due:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li><p>Afterwards you&#8217;ll need to <strong>backup<\/strong> some of the settings, just in case:<\/p>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t<ol>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Backup the Customizer&#8217;s options. To do that go to   your <strong>Monstroid admin dashboard<\/strong> >  then on your left go to the <strong>&#8216;Customizing&#8217;<\/strong> section > <strong>Export\/Import<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n<a class=\"darkbox\" href=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Monstroid_2_Manual_Update_of_the_main_theme_1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" in a folder named <strong>&#8216;main monstroid backup&#8217;<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n<a class=\"darkbox\" to perform the following steps:<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ol>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Open the WordPress admin panel and go to the<strong> &#8216;Appearance&#8217;<\/strong> >  <strong>&#8216;Themes&#8217;<\/strong> section;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<p>Press the<strong> &#8216;Add new&#8217;<\/strong> button and click <strong>&#8216;Upload theme&#8217;<\/strong>;<\/p> \r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<p>After that, repeat the same steps for the <strong>Child theme<\/strong>, which you&#8217;ve previously unpacked from that same file as the main theme (two above steps). <\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n<a class=\"darkbox\" href=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Monstroid_2_Manual_Update_of_the_main_theme_5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" href=\"\/help\/wordpress-how-to-update-plugins-automatically-and-manually.html\" target=\"_blank\">update the Plugins<\/a>, by going to the sidebar on your left > <strong>&#8216;Plugins&#8217;<\/strong> menu;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t\t<p> Now you&#8217;ll need to <strong>import back <\/strong>those settings which you&#8217;ve exported in a previous step;<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ol>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>To do that go to your Monstroid admin dashboard ,  then on your left go to the <strong>&#8216;Customizing&#8217;<\/strong> section;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Open <strong>&#8216;Export\/Import&#8217;<\/strong> tab and choose the<strong> &#8216;Import&#8217;<\/strong> option;<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><p>Click the <strong>&#8216;Browse&#8217;<\/strong> button, locate the file to import customization settings for this theme and click<strong> &#8216;Import&#8217;<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\r\n<a class=\"darkbox\" href=\"\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Monstroid_2_Manual_Update_of_the_main_theme_6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" web server (1.3 in the list of steps);<\/p><\/li>\r\n\t<li>\r\n\t<p>Open <strong>&#8216;style.css&#8217;<\/strong> file for editing and copy those parts of the code that you&#8217;ve changed there into the <strong>&#8216;styles.CSS&#8217;<\/strong> file that&#8217;s located in the new folder of an updated Monstroid version.
