This tutorial will show you how to add products of specific category to Magento home page.<\/p>\r\n

  1. \r\n

    \r\n\t\tOpen Magento admin panel and go to Catalog > Manage Categories<\/strong>.\r\n\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

  2. \r\n

    \r\n\tSelect the necessary category and look for the category ID at the top. Remember the category ID value as you’ll need it later:<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n\t\tIn Magento admin panel go to CMS> Pages>Home<\/strong> page.\r\n\t<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    \r\n\tSwitch to the Content tab and into the html code block paste the following code:<\/p>\r\n

    In case you want to control the number of columns in product listing, please use the following code:<\/p>\r\n
    \r\n\t\t\t{{block type=\"catalog\/product_list\" column_count=\"4\" category_id=\"4\" template=\"catalog\/product\/list.phtml\"}}\r\n\t\t<\/pre>\r\n
    Where the column_count value is the number of columns.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    Navigate to System->Permissions->Blocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  7. \r\n
    Click on the Add new block<\/strong> button.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  8. \r\n
    Specify your Block Name, which is: catalog\/product_list.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
  9. \r\n
    And allow the Block using the YES\/No Dropdown list:<\/p>\r\n
