Media Pro - The Ultimate Media File Manager for PrestaShop

A high-performance, enterprise-grade media manager. Featuring automatic WebP generation, IPTC SEO injection, non-destructive watermarking, and a secure soft-delete trash bin.

Blazing Fast

Built with lazy-loading (IntersectionObserver) to handle directories with thousands of images instantly without freezing the browser.

Auto-WebP

Upload a heavy JPEG, and the module automatically generates a lightweight Next-Gen WebP version to skyrocket your Google PageSpeed scores.

Enterprise Security

Strict binary MIME-type checking (finfo) prevents hackers from uploading malicious scripts disguised as image files.

Installation

Installing Media Pro is identical to any standard PrestaShop module.

  Download the mediapro.zip file.

Log in to your PrestaShop Back Office.

  Navigate to Modules Module Manager.

Click the Upload a module button in the top right corner.

Drag and drop the mediapro.zip file into the upload zone.

Wait for the "Module installed!" success message.

Tip:

After installation, you can access the manager by navigating to the newly created

"Media Pro"

tab in your left-hand PrestaShop menu.

Configuration

Before using the module, you can tailor it to your server's capabilities. Click Configure on the module in the Module Manager.

Available Settings

  Server Information Panel:

The module automatically scans your PHP upload_max_filesize and post_max_size to tell you the absolute physical limit your server can handle.

  Auto-generate WebP (Toggle):

If enabled, any newly uploaded JPG or PNG will have a .webp duplicate generated alongside it.

  Watermark (Toggle & Upload):

Upload a transparent PNG logo. When enabled, this logo will be automatically stamped into the bottom right corner of all newly uploaded images.

Uploading & Auto-WebP

Media Pro completely reinvents how you get files onto your server.

Drag and Drop

Simply grab files from your desktop and drop them anywhere on the Media Pro screen. The UI will glow blue, and your files will upload instantly with a progress bar.

The WebP Magic

If you have Auto-WebP enabled, dropping a 2MB banner.jpg will instantly create a 300KB banner.webp right next to it. Note: If you move the JPG to the Trash Bin later, the WebP stays safe.

Advanced Organization

Managing files is a breeze with our custom-built UI.

Contextual Breadcrumbs: Instantly jump back to parent folders.

Advanced Modals: When you select files and click "Move" or "Copy", a clean dropdown modal appears showing your entire folder tree. No more typing paths manually!

Grid vs List: Toggle between a beautiful visual grid for images, or a dense list view for finding documents quickly.

Trash Bin (Soft Delete)

Never worry about accidentally deleting a critical homepage banner again.

When you click Delete on any file or folder, it is moved to a hidden, secure .trash directory on your server. Click the yellow Trash button in the top toolbar to view your deleted items. From there, you can restore them to their exact original location, or click "Empty Trash" to permanently free up server space.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Why aren't my WebP images generating?

Ensure that Auto-WebP is toggled "Yes" in the module configuration. Additionally, your server's PHP installation must have the GD library compiled with WebP support (the imagewebp() function). If your server lacks this, the module will safely skip the generation.

I uploaded a Watermark but it's not showing up?

Watermarks are only applied to newly uploaded images. They are not retroactively applied to images already sitting in your folder. Also, ensure the image you are uploading is physically larger than your watermark PNG.

I get a "Security Error" when uploading a file.

This means the actual binary content of the file does not match its extension. For example, if you rename a .txt file to .jpg, the module's strict MIME-type scanner will catch it and block the upload to protect your server.
