The backend is the control panel that authorized users to add, remove and modify content on the website and to manage the website appearance and functionality.

It is also known as “dashboard”, “control panel”, “admin panel” or “administration area”.

Access to the back end is restricted to the site officials with appropriate privileges, such as publishers, administrators, super users. It is password protected.

There are many tasks which can be done with the administrator interface. You can set up or change your web site look by using the templates, additional extensions and plugins, editing the content or ordering an advanced customization and coding.
