Tracking Code is a small snippet of code inserted into an HTML page.

When the HTML page is loaded, the tracking code contacts the Analytics server and logs a page view for that page, and also captures information about the visit and non-identifying information about the visitor.

Google Analytics is used for tracking your site’s traffic, you can verify your site using the Google Analytics tracking code associated with the site. To do this, you must have “edit” permission for the web property whose tracking code is used by that page.
