Web development

Web development is a growing industry which specializes in website building, design, optimization, publishing, etc. In a broader sense, web development encompasses several sub-aspects, such as web design, web publishing, web programming and database management, SEO optimization. While such terms as web development and web design are being used interchangeably, the semantics of these terms is quite different.

Web development is primarily involved in the back-end process and web content creation. It includes PHP, .NET, Python, C, Ruby coding, SQL management which help create dynamic websites. In recent years, the content management systems such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal have become the popular means of web development. These tools enable edit, modify, add, remove front-end content using web-based interface. They are strongly reliant on back-end web development.

Web design, on the contrary, deals with the actual look and feel of a website and its graphics, color scheming rather than its functionality. Web designer’s tools are HTML, CSS and javaScript.
