Back-to-top button is used to help the readers scroll the page up:

Back-To-Top button allows your website visitors to easily scroll back to the top of your page with one click.

This gives your website better navigation and also adds a more professional look to your current layout.

The Back-to-top button remains in a fixed position on your site and, therefore, can be seen even once your visitor scrolls down.

A scroll button should be subtle and it has become expected to see one on the lower right of the page.

Some sites include the button in the footer, while others use fixed positioning to place the button and show/hide the button based on where the user is on the page.
