Backlink
September 20, 2016
Backlink, also known as Inbound Link (IBL’s), is a link from other sites back to your own.
This term is usually used in search engine optimization sphere. Backlinks have a great impact on the page ranking. These links allow Google to index your site faster, especially if your site is new. They allow you to get referral traffic, that is the main advantage of the backlinks.
They’re sometimes also referred to as “trackbacks” (especially on blogs). Lots of backlinks from high-ranking sites can greatly improve your search engine results, especially if those links use keywords in their anchor text.
Your backlinks have to have good quality. They should have corresponding content. When inbound links to your site come from other sites, and those sites have content related to your website, these inbound links are considered more relevant to your site. If backlinks are found on sites with unrelated content, they are considered less relevant.
