Capture (Data Capture) is an input of data, not as a direct result of data entry but instead as a result of performing a different but related activity. It also can be referred to as a method of collecting information and then changing it into a form a computer can read or use.

There are the following ways of data capture:

• Manual (with mouse, keyboard or touch-screen);

• Voice recognition;

• Optical Character Recognition;

• Magnetic Inc Character Recognition;

• Encoding Information.
