GUI (graphical user interface) is a program interface that takes advantage of the computer’s graphics capabilities to make the program easier to use. It is a type of interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices through visual indicators and graphical icons.

The actions in a GUI are performed through direct manipulation of the graphical elements. Today’s major operating systems provide a graphical user interface. Elements of a GUI include such things as: windows, buttons, pull-down menus, scroll bars, iconic images etc.
