To hover is to hold the mouse pointer over a defined area on a web page without clicking, in order to cause some changes to appear.

For example, the text or link may become underlined or change color while the cursor is hovering over it.

Hover effects can be also applied to images. With hover effect images change shapes, colors, position, etc. which makes the website look dynamic.
