navigation
September 7, 2015
Website navigation is one of the important elements on the site. The most common location of navigation is across the top of the page:

It consists of the links to the other pages (internal or external links). They can include different links or can duplicate them:

As a rule, navigation helps you to get information and makes it easier for the visitor to get to the main areas of the website.
There are different styles for website navigation:
- Breadcrumbs
- Tab Navigation
- Text Links
- Dropdown Menu
- Sitemap
Navigation should be descriptive and brief, titles should indicate and represent the contents of the page.
It is recommended limiting a number of menus in navigation to most used and important, as a large number of links overloads a page and makes difficult to browse through a website.
Usually most important links are placed at the very beginning and the least important items in the middle or end of navigation.
