Pop-up

Pop-up – a window that suddenly appears (pops up), when you select an option with a mouse or press a special function key.

A pop-up is a graphical user interface (GUI) display area, usually a small window in the foreground of the visual interface.

This term became a well-known term with the advent of intrusive and non-intrusive Internet pop-up ads.

Usually, the pop-up window contains a menu of commands and stays on the screen only until you select one of the commands. Then it disappears:
