Portfolio item is a custom type of posts in WordPress which allows creating Portfolio/Gallery pages on the site.

Portfolio page unites all the portfolio post types under one page and allows displaying portfolio items in 2/3/4 columns.

Portfolio items have their own taxonomy and can be sorted by categories. Cherry Framework 3 allows deriving posts of one category in column layout. In Cherry Framework 4 Portfolio item can be sorted by category only by the means of the posts shortcode.
