response time

Response time is elapsed time between the end of inquiry or demand on computer system or web-site and the actual beginning of response. To be more specific: it can be the length of and inquiry and the display of the first character at a user terminal.

There is also the concept of perceived response time, which is the time a user senses as the beginning of input and the end of the response.
