Server cache is a common alias for a web accelerator.

A web accelerator is a proxy server that reduces web site access time. They can be a self-contained hardware appliance or installable software. Web accelerators may be installed on the client (browsing) computer or mobile device, on ISP servers, on the server computer/network, or a combination.

A server website accelerator usually uses a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to cache static content from websites that are stored on geographically dispersed servers — this makes your website load more quickly for visitors.

A content delivery network (CDN) is a system of distributed servers (network) that deliver webpages and other Web content to a user based on the geographic locations of the user, the origin of the webpage and a content delivery server.
