This tutorial shows how to edit items URLs (aliases) in Joomla 3.x.

Aliases are the last parts of Joomla URLs which display the title of certain items (Menu items, Articles and Categories).

Please note that aliases can be represented with letters and dashes only.

1. To edit the Menu item URL (Alias), navigate to Joomla admin panel > Menus > Main menu tab. Open the Menu item required and find the Alias field next to the Menu Item title or under it.

2. Type new URL into the Alias field and use the Save or Save & Close buttons to save the changes.

3. You can update Categories aliases under the Content – Category manager tab of Joomla admin panel. Alias text is updated in the same Alias field.

4. To change the Article URL, go to Content – Article manager, open the appropriate article and type in new link into the Alias field.
