In this tutorial you will find out how to restore a full backup for your Drupal Site.
There are 3 steps to restore the Drupal website from the full backup.
First, restore the files.
Log into your Host Control Panel . Go to File Manager :
Select all the files, click Compress button to zip all the current files and download to your computer (you can skip this step):
Go to Sites folder, change permission for default folder into 755, in default folder you also need to change permission for settings.php file into 644, so that you can delete all the files completely:
Go back to the root directory, select all the files, and click Delete button:
Click Upload button and upload the .zip file that we have backed up before. Then click Extract to unzip this file, so that you will have all the files back from the full backup:
Go to sites folder to change permission for default folder into 755, open default folder to change permission of settings.php file into 644.
Open settings.php file to remove all the content from this file. Then save it:
Next, you should restore the database.
Finally, we will connect the website to the restored database.
Type the website URL in the browser address bar to see the installation page appearing:
Continue all the steps you did to install the template:
On the initial setup page you will be prompted to select the installation profile. Choose Demonstration site and click Save and Continue:
Follow the instructions on the screen. Fill in the fields with your database name, username, password and hostname of the restored database:
On the Choose snapshot step, select the snapshot as it is shown on the image below and click the Restore button:
Click Visit your site link to see that the website has been restored successfully.
